What is happening and all information around Jakarta and Big City

MAD (lotte-avenue mall)

Hi, i have visited this restaurant (Modern Asia Dining) with my best friend and my boy friend.
So i bought 3 livingsocial vouchers and it’s “Chinese” all you can eat restaurant.

So here is my review:

Advantages:

  • the food is excellent
  • i like all the prawn menus, it’s fresh, very juicy!!
  • the service is good(overall), only one maid who was not too friendly. and after i saw her, i think because she was busy taking other’s orders. so i just ignored her. (teamwork is the best in here, that’s why i can ignore her attitude)
  • i would say it has a romantic ambience (with city view), relaxing
  • eventhough we are using living social vouchers, they are kind to us. very structured in order of working
  • they also provide some alcohol beverages, it is a good place to bring your client

Disadvantages:

  • unfortunately, all the vouchers are without drinks :p

would i recommend this restaurant? yes, of course, i will visit this restaurant again after july. (yes i already made a schedule with friends)

it has the same condition that we need to finish eating in 2 hours, but they didn’t rush us or always remind us about the time.

Position of the restaurant is next of  XXI

  • Lotte Shopping Avenue 4th floor unit 33, Ciputra World 1. Jln.Prof.Dr.Satrio kav 3-5 ,Karet Kuningan, Jakarta, Indonesia 12940
  • Phone: (021) 29889499 (better to make reservation first)

Dim Sum 48 (Menteng)

Alright, i visited this restaurant yesterday with my team.
So we used livingsocial vouchers and it’s all you can eat restaurant. (with tim sum, etc)

So here is my review:

Advantages:

  • i would recommend tim hakau and siew mai
  • i like lumpia udang goreng and kulit tahu, it has citrus aroma
  • my table manager service is pretty good (he encouraged us to finish everything on table, yes it felt like a match)
  • nice ambience, calm and relaxing

Disadvantages:

  • you can not help your friend from other table, you have to finish everything that you have ordered
  • they keep on reminding you every 5-10 minutes about time that you only have 2 hours to sit and enjoy your food
  • before 2 hours i want to order something else because they didn’t give my lists (and i already give it a day ago). and  guess what?? they reluctantly to give me the menu and keep on reminding that you can not waste the food.  so annoying, i raised my voice to make them listen to me.
  • I wish the talas goreng would taste better than just like curry instant seasoning
  • I ordered fried rice too, i have checked the menu and choose the expensive one, but you know?? i barely even see the seafood in my fried rice.

in summary: this my first time and it’s going to be my last time to visit this place.

Mie Thai (Setiabudi one)

Okay, this is the 2nd time for me visited this restaurant. at first, i’m a little bit forgot that this was the same restaurant that i have visited with my boyfriend or not. when i see the quantity of the dishes.. okay i was certained that this is the same restaurant.

There’s no small menu on there, so just consider the standart size. the size is too small even it’s called as standart. but the service is pretty nice.Image the price is quite high and not equal with the taste, so far all my friends have said about their dissapointment regarded the food taste and the quantity.

so far all my team’s favorite is this barbecued gouramy, they didn’t dissapoint with this one 🙂

Barbecued Gouramy_Mie thai

The second one goes to this grilled squid, they added the sauce topping : taste a little bit spicy and sour, i think they use oyster sauce with chilli flakes

Grilled Squid

so far, those are the recommended dishes, if you want to ask about tom yum, the taste of tomyum sauce was not really tasty and no one vote for the dish. they didn’t even comment after taste it, so it must be…. 🙂

4 Fingers Crispy Chicken

Have you heard 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken?

My friend Diaz just bought a voucher from disdus. he only needed to pay around 85.000 for 6 menus.

Diaz and yoha4 chicken fingers food

i ate with my friend at Epicentrum walk, the place is comfy and somehow make me remember of KFC/Burgerking, but this one is quiter and more comfortable (and of course more expensive lol)

Camera 360

if you want to hangout with your boyfriend/girlfriend, but you want to talk much instead of eating, you can suggest it to your boyfriend/girlfriend. at epicentrum walk, the place is just in the front of TVOne’s studio. near XXI Epiwalk.

The service is average, the food taste is no better, but still okay (they said the drumstick is very well-known, but unfortunately we can’t try that on that time, maybe next time).

from my perceptive, it’s just as good as i have visited this place :), but i didn’t feel any stimulations to make me want to visit this restaurant repetitively :). from the menu price is range between 30-50 thousand. i tried the Mint Tea, Rp. 13000 before tax.. the taste is pretty nice, but maybe they can make it a little bit better by using a pretty glass to make it looks more presentable (because they give me a plastic glass that looks so cheap, so i’m still thinking the taste is not equal with the price.)

Comic cafe

i walked with my brother to find a dine in place. the weather was so hot, that’s why we changed our meeting place from pasar festival to epicentrum walk (i can’t stand with pasar festival temperature, no air conditioner at all).
my brother suggested because there are so many restaurants in epicentrum walk (with air conditioner, hehe)
so we took a walk around the mall to find any convenient place to hang out.
when we were on the 2nd floor of epicentrum walk, we caught the design of this restaurant which placed at the corner of the ground floor.
we were attracted to the front design of the restaurant, we were curious to find out what kind of restaurant was that. i caught a glimpse of the board name, Comic Cafe.
without thinking any more longer, we went down to the first floor.
i remembered that my boyfriend is really in love with marvel comic, i bet he would like to take some pictures of himself in this cafe. so i took some display pictures to boast it to him.

after

took some figure collections picture, i took a look at the menu. the menu design looks like a comic, (s

orry i forgot to take a picture of it). and in the end of the page we can see the summarize of the menu, lol (it’s easier to read the summarize it self).

because i was exhausted and too hungry, i have chosen Krakatao Fried rice, price range in IDR 40 thousand.then, my brother has chosen special fried rice with ham (but after he tasted what i have chosen..he changed his mind easily, lol)Image
for main dishes were rage between IDR 40-90 for the main dish. you can check the detail menu at: comic cafe menu
for pasta around 42 thousand. the interior rather cool with comic design on the top of each table. we can’t stop to take a look for their figure collections too, so if you are a marvel fans, this place is cool for you and your friends to spend your time for lunch or gathering.

oh ya don’t forget, the smoking area is at the 2nd floor, and the 1st floor is for non-smoking area.

Ming Dine and Chill at Epicentrum

Hi, long time no update for my blog.
A few days ago, i had a lunch with my Qualitative team. @Ming Dine and Chill at epicentrum mall. anyway that was the 1st time for me to visit the Epicentrum.
From Livingsocial.co.id, we got some vouchers, usually the price above from 150 thousand, but we only need to pay around 99 thousand.
The entrance looks very classy, on my right side from my dinner table, i could see a big bar table.
so the restaurant was stand side by side from the spanish restaurant.

BeFunky_20131206_131455.jpg

because it’s all you can eat, so i ordered:
Fried yam dumplings with chicken–>contains 3 pcs
Deep fried bean curd skin rolls with prawns–>contains 4 pcs
steamed shrimp dumplings–>contains 4 pcs
i ordered with numbers.
i didn’t know the Fried yam dumplings with chicken were that big. i was afraid that i couldn’t finish that dish. because if you ordered and you couldn’t finish them, you will be charged for the leftover foods.

anyway, i mistaken, eventhough it has a  big size, i found the taste was very tasty. i eat those 3 dumplings by myself. so far those  Fried yam dumplings with chicken is my favorite.

the service was rather slow and they didn’t have enough ingredients for hakau or baked mini egg tarts(my friends tried to order it again), they said the ingredients for that menu was used up. or maybe it’s a policy from the restaurant management to limit the order?? who knows?

anyway, for food everything was pretty nice. the service was not really fast but still acceptable for me.

Still good enough to try!^^

Floods, Jakarta and Biopori

It such a big home work for our new governor, Mr. Jokowi to fix up the long time task which is never end in jakarta capital. Floods. Every time the rainy season comes,we have to prepare ourselves for the big flood to come (around 1-4 meters high, but mostly the maximum height of flood is range in 2 meters). by other word

if Bogor is flooded, probably we have lost Jakarta

Population

For your information, the main problem is not only from geographical problem, but also the individual who lives in the city. The big shared pie of Indonesia’s population is located at Jakarta. From 240 Millions people, more than 129 millions people live at Jakarta.

 Pemukiman

Every year, people from sub-urban and other cities moved to Jakarta. they don’t even care to live near river and it’s not a new story for them to throw their trashes to the river. people who care about this problem already tired to tell them about it. But when they got a problem they accused the government for not helping them. Well… what can i say? Some of citizens also throw their trashes on the road and never think twice.

Untitled

Due to increased on civil population at Jakarta, people has used underground water to meet their daily needs. The exploitation uses of groundwater in Jakarta have caused of land subsidence. The reason which we barely aware of.
Those problems have a big impact to our environment, especially to floods. Truthfully, i never encounter a widespread and deep flood at Jakarta like today. we even have a few days off of our office! yay… oopss. Some people brought their own Rubber Boats, Wood Cart and they rent it to citizens. Indonesia people always amuse me, even though they are in a big problem like this they can see the opportunity and work on it. They still try to find the enjoy point to keep them happy 😀 Great! Now let’s get back to the topic.

To solve Jakarta’s flooding problem is not only from government, but, also from individuals whose living in it. people have to understand and work together.

I heard that to prevent bigger flooding happens at Jakarta, The government needs to make a deep and big dam, like in Netherlands. Another plan is to make a big space under Jakarta city, like in Thailand. To do those plans, of course it requires a lot of money. But since 2011, some of place in Jakarta have made a lot of Biopori Hole. Biopori hole can be established in anywhere even on your own garden. We don’t need a lot of money to put in organic trashes. In fact, it would be better if you build near at a big tree close to your house. For a big scale of citizens such as Jakarta, we need to build around 76 Millions of Biopori Holes. Till today, we successfully manage to built 5 millions of biopori Holes. Jakarta still need around 70 millions of Biopori Holes. What are you going to do from now? start to stop on throwing your own trashes on the road and river? or start to build a biopori hole around your home-sweet-home.

Here is an example for people who want to build a biopori hole next to their house:
